Reported impaired driver in Burin provides breath samples four times legal limit

Following up on a report of a suspected impaired driver, Burin Peninsula RCMP arrested a 57-year-old Burin man for impaired driving on September 8, 2022.

At approximately 2:00 pm on Thursday, police received the report of an intoxicated individual who drove to a local business on Main Street in Burin. Officers attended the business and located the described driver who showed signs of alcohol intoxication. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were four times the legal limit. He was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. His vehicle was seized and impounded and his licence was suspended.
