RCMP's Major Crime Unit investigating homicide

The New Brunswick RCMP's Major Crime Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a man in Rollingdam, N.B., as a homicide.

On August 31, 2022, at approximately 9 a.m., members of the Saint-George RCMP and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of an unresponsive man in Rollingdam. Once on scene, police found a 32-year-old man deceased.

An autopsy was scheduled to help determine the man's exact cause of death, and the police investigation has now determined that the man's death was a result of a homicide. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Steven Cook.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are interested in speaking to anyone who lives in the area and who may have video surveillance or trail camera footage, or who witnessed suspicious activity between August 29 and 31.
