RCMP Northeast Traffic Services – Cape Breton has charged a man with drug offences

Northeast Traffic Services - Cape Breton (NETS-CB) has charged a man with drug offences after an investigation in Little Bras D'Or.

On September 6, 2022, RCMP NETS-CB, received information about a man selling prescription pills at a gas station in Little Bras D'Or. RCMP officers attended the gas station and located the man sitting in front of the gas station. The man was safely arrested and during a search of the man, incidental to arrest, RCMP officers seized a number of prescription pills, including hydromorphone, a quantity of cash and, a cellular phone.

John Leonard MacLean, 49, of Point Aconi, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (6 counts). MacLean was released on conditions and will attend Sydney Provincial Court on December 12, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing.
