RCMP Major Crimes West continues investigation into murder of Randy Cormier

RCMP Major Crimes Unit West (MCU West) is continuing to investigate the murder of Randolph (Randy) Cormier that occurred in 2000.

Randy Cormier was reported missing on February 9, 2000. His body was located in the water off of Black Banks Beach (near Barachois Brook) on March 11, 2000. An autopsy determined that he died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Despite the pursuit of multiple investigative avenues during the course of the investigation, this crime remains unsolved.

MCU West is aware of a recent post to social media alleging one individual as being involved in the murder. That information is being investigated.
