Police seize drugs and weapons, 35-year-old man arrested

The Caraquet RCMP has arrested a 35-year-old man, and seized drugs and weapons as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Caraquet, N.B.

On June 24, 2022 at approximately 2:50 p.m., the Caraquet RCMP, with assistance from the Tracadie RCMP Community Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on St-Simon Road. During the search, police seized two unsecured rifles, an unsecured shotgun, a crossbow, and ammunition. Police also seized quantities of what is believed to be methamphetamine pills, cocaine, cannabis products, contraband cigarettes, money, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A 35-year old man from the community was arrested at the scene. He was later released pending a future court appearance.
