The Keswick District RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify two persons of interest as part of an investigation into vehicle thefts in Hanwell.

On May 15, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., at least two people broke into a fenced yard at a business on Timothy Avenue. The individuals hitched an enclosed trailer to a marked commercial pickup truck. They then got into a second marked commercial truck, and rammed the gate of the fenced yard. As they attempted to drive the truck with the trailer out of the yard, the trailer unhitched and was left at the scene. The suspects fled the scene in the two trucks.

On May 18, one of the trucks was recovered on the Old Morrow Road in Geary. The following day, the second truck was located on Highway 4 in Harvey. Both vehicles are white Ford F350 pickup trucks with commercial truck boxes, and both were marked with "Perfection Paving" logos.

Police were able to obtain surveillance footage that shows two men near the business at the time of the theft. The first man is described as being of medium build, wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a black sweater and a beige baseball hat. The second is also of medium build, wearing black Adidas sneakers, blue jeans, a black coat with a hood and a black toque.

"We are committed to working together with our communities to solve crime, and to protect residents and businesses," says Cpl. René Pelletier of the Keswick District RCMP. "If you saw these trucks in the Geary or Harvey areas prior to when they were recovered, if you know who these individuals are, or if you have other information that could help our investigation, please contact police."

Anyone who has information about the incident, or about other property crime in the Hanwell area, is asked to contact the Keswick District RCMP at 506-357-4300. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca
