Nain RCMP arrests two impaired drivers on snowmobile

Two drivers were arrested for impaired driving on snowmobiles by Nain RCMP between December 26 - 30, 2021.

On December 26, police received a report of a suspected impaired driver. Officers patrolled and located the described snowmobile and conducted a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed a roadside screening test and was arrested for impaired driving. She provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. The driver was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving.

On December 30, while on patrol, officers were notified of a suspected impaired driver on a snowmobile in a residential area. Police located the described snowmobile and spoke to the driver who showed signs of impairment. The man was arrested for impaired driving and refused to provide breath samples. He was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date to answer to a charge of refusing to provide a breath sample.
