News release

A 36-year-old woman who departed Mr. T's Ultramar in a vehicle with stolen goods on January 4, 2022, was located and arrested by Gander RCMP.

On Tuesday afternoon, Gander RCMP received a report of theft from the business. A woman departed the store without paying for a number of other items, including drug paraphernalia (bongs). She entered into a car that was being operated by an unknown man and the two departed the parking lot.

Police located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. Officers observed the suspected stolen property in the vehicle and the woman was arrested. A blonde wig, which was used as disguise during the theft, was also located inside the car. Officers seized a large quantity of other items believed to be stolen that same day from several other businesses.

The woman was released from custody and now faces charges of theft and breach of a release order. She is set to attend court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing. Additional criminal charges are anticipated.
