Bay St. George RCMP arrested a 43-year-old man for impaired driving on a snowmobile in Lourdes on January 28, 2022.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, police observed a snowmobile speeding on the Main Road in Lourdes. The snowmobile and driver were located at a local store. The officer approached the driver as he exited the store and observed signs of impairment. The man failed a roadside breath test, was arrested for impaired operation and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were above the legal limit. He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired operation.
The snowmobile was seized and impounded and the man's driver's licence was suspended.
