Stanley Mission RCMP seize large quantity of unlawfully-possessed alcohol

19 66-ounce bottles of whiskey, 4 66-ounce bottles of vodka, 10 two-litre bottles of cider and an unloaded firearm.

On June 5, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Stanley Mission RCMP officers stopped a vehicle while conducting a traffic patrol on Highway #915.

After seeing alcohol in plain sight, police officers searched the vehicle, which had four adults and one child in it. They seized 19 66-ounce bottles of whiskey, 4 66-ounce bottles of vodka, 10 two-litre bottles of cider and an unloaded firearm. Some of the alcohol and the firearm were located under the child's seat.

As a result of this investigation an adult female from Stanley Mission, SK, was charged with:

  • 1 count, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code.
  • 1 count, Unlawful Possession of Beverage Alcohol, Section 138(1), Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act.

She will appear in court in Stanley Mission on August 10, 2021.

This is the fifth Unlawful Possession of Beverage Alcohol charge laid by Stanley Mission RCMP this year. Any information relating to the illegal sale or transportation of alcohol should be reported immediately to your nearest RCMP Detachment.
