Update- August 27: The Codiac Regional RCMP has identified the person of interest in this incident thanks in part to tips received from the public. A 25 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and will appear in Moncton Provincial Court on August 27. The Codiac RCMP is asking for the public's help with identifying a person of interest following a stabbing incident in Moncton, N.B.

On July 31, at approximately 2 a.m., police received a report of an altercation that occurred on Oak Lane near Main Street. One man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are releasing photos of a person of interest, and are hoping information from the public may help identify this person or provide additional information to help the investigation. At the time of the incident, the individual was wearing a blue sleeveless shirt, grey or beige shorts, white socks, running shoes and a set of red headphones around his neck.

Anyone with information about the stabbing incident or who recognizes the individual, is asked to contact the Codiac RCMP at 506-857-2400.
