Onion lake RCMP charge second male in relation to the homicide of Braden Richard Bull

Onion Lake RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit – North, the North Battleford RCMP Forensics Identification Section, the Saskatchewan RCMP Polygraph Unit, the North Battleford, Prince Albert and Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Sections (GIS) continue to investigate the homicide of Braden Richard Bull which occurred in January 2020.

On October 19, 2020, 26-year-old Branden Dillon of Onion Lake was arrested in Prince Albert and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Braden Bull. Dillon is the second person charged in this investigation (see below).

Dillon made his first court appearance on Oct. 20, 2020, in Provincial Court in Prince Albert.

Onion Lake RCMP sudden death investigation in Onion Lake Cree Nation results in second degree murder charge

Lake RCMP, along with the North Battleford, Prince Albert and Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) have been investigating the homicide of Braden Richard Bull for over eight months.

Officers have continued to follow-up on all information and tips received from the public regarding this investigation and conducted several interviews. As a result of this work, officers have arrested and charged 24-year-old Vega Bear, of Onion Lake, SK, with Second Degree Murder.

The North Battleford and Saskatoon RCMP GIS arrested Bear in Edmonton on September 21, 2020. Bear was transported to Lloydminster to make his first appearance in Provincial Court on September 22, 2020.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit – North, the North Battleford RCMP Forensics Identification Section and the Saskatchewan RCMP Polygraph Unit also assisted with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
