Three people have been arrested and a large quantity of drugs seized in Moncton, N.B.

On December 2, 2020, police arrested a 41-year-old man from Dieppe in relation to an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation involving resources from the New Brunswick RCMP, Woodstock Police Force and Fredericton Police Force. Later that day, a search warrant was executed at a hotel room on Mountain Road. Police arrested a 27-year-old Moncton woman and a 25-year-old Quispamsis woman at the scene.

During the initial arrest and the execution of the subsequent search warrant, a significant amount of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine and pills, cocaine, and hydromorphone capsules was seized. Police also seized various drug paraphernalia, a large sum of money and five cellphones.

The man was found to be in violation of parole and was returned to the custody of Correctional Service of Canada. The women were released pending a future court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing.
