Woodstock, New Brunswick

News release

The West District RCMP is investigating a number of recent break and enters, and seeking information from the public to help identify the person or people responsible.

The Woodstock Detachment has received at least six reports of break and enters into residences, seasonal properties and one business since October 15. The incidents occurred in Juniper, Johnville, Jacksonville, Centreville, Dorrington Hill and Enterprise, N.B.

A number of items were stolen from the various locations, including several rifles and shotguns, ammunition, three all-terrain vehicles (a red Honda TRX 350T and two red Honda Rubicons), and generators, among other items.

"We want to remind people to ensure their properties and any outbuildings are always properly secured and well-lit to deter would-be thieves, and that any items like firearms are properly stored and secured," said Cst. Jonathan Lirette with the Woodstock RCMP. "We also encourage residents to report any instances of suspicious behaviour or activity in their area to police."

Anyone with information about the break and enters, or any of the stolen items, is asked to contact the Woodstock RCMP at 506-325-3000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tip at www.crimenb.ca.
