Introducing new Windsor District Commander, Staff Sergeant Cory Bushell

Windsor RCMP is pleased to announce Staff Sergeant Cory Bushell as the new District Commander for Windsor RCMP, which includes West Hants and the Town of Windsor.

Born and raised in Windsor, Nova Scotia, S/Sgt. Bushell joined the RCMP in October 1997 and has held many roles during his nearly 21-years of service.

S/Sgt. Bushell started out as a General Duty Constable in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He went on to serve in a number of communities including Iqaluit and Pangnirtung, Nunavut, and Digby, Enfield, Halifax and most recently RCMP Headquarters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. During these posts S/Sgt. Bushell served as a Community Policing Officer, Detachment Supervisor, Career Advisor and ran the National Ports Enforcement Team, and Nova Scotia RCMP Career Development and Resourcing section.

As District Commander, S/Sgt. Bushell is dedicated to working with community members and service providers to help keep residents and Windsor District RCMP employees safe.

"It's an honour to work alongside extremely knowledgeable and capable staff to serve the area I grew up in," says S/Sgt. Bushell. "I look forward to connecting with residents to explore the challenges our communities face and how police and citizens can work toward solutions together.

He adds, "I am grateful for the work of outgoing Windsor District Commander, S/Sgt. Dianne Stairs, and I look forward to continuing to build upon the foundation she's laid to keep our communities safe."
