Our presence in hundreds of communities across Canada makes it critical to support the health and safety of all Canadians. Watch Dr. Clifford, the RCMP's Chief Medical Advisor, talk about the importance of getting vaccinated.

Transcript

Hello,

My name is Dr. Peter Clifford, I am your National Medical Advisor. My job is to help keep members safe from illness and injury.

For the past year and a half, we have been battling COVID-19 and its new, more contagious, variants. Getting vaccinated is critical to keeping yourself and those around you safe from severe, possibly fatal illness.

Think of it this way:

As a police officer, you wear body armour because it could save your life if you get shot.

When you get in a vehicle, you wear a seatbelt because it could save your life in an accident.

Vaccine acts in very much the same way. It's like body armour or a seatbelt for your lungs: It's not a guarantee that you'll never get sick, but if you do, it's the reason you'll survive.

If you haven't already, please get fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

It could save your life or the life of someone you love.
