RCMP investigates a vehicle-cyclist collision

Kings District RCMP is investigating a vehicle-cyclist collision that occurred in Berwick West.

Shortly after midnight this morning, Kings District RCMP, fire services and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Hwy. 1 near the 3900 block. RCMP officers learned that a Mazda 3 was travelling west on the highway when it collided with a cyclist also travelling on the highway.

The cyclist, a 20-year-old Aylesford man, suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by EHS.

The driver of the Mazda 3, a 38-year-old Aylesford woman, did not suffer physical injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 1 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
