RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment investigating serious crash

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a serious crash that occurred on Peggy's Cove Rd. near Peggy's Cove.

On March 31, at approximately 1:05 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, fire services and EHS responded to a motor vehicle crash on Peggy's Cove Rd. at Setag Ln.

Preliminary investigation shows that a pickup truck had veered off the road, striking a fishing boat that was on a property bordering the road. Fire services extracted the driver and sole occupant from the vehicle.

The 24-year-old man of Seabright was transported to hospital by EHS with life-threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

Peggy's Cove Rd. was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
