Update: Moose Jaw RCMP on scene of serious collision on Highway #2

On April 5, 2024 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Moose Jaw RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #2, 30 kilometres north of Moose Jaw near Sandy Point.

Officers responded immediately along with the local fire department and EMS. Investigation determined that two cars collided.

The driver and sole occupant of one car, and a passenger in the second car were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. One has been identified as a 56-year-old male from Fort McMurray, Alberta, and the other has been identified as a 52-year-old female from India. Both of their families have been notified.

The driver and two passengers of the second car were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Highway #2 was closed, but has since reopened.

Moose Jaw RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Moose Jaw RCMP are responding to a report of a serious collision on Highway #2, 30 kilometers north of Moose Jaw near Sandy Point.

The highway is currently closed, and detours are in place but motorists should expect delays in the area. Please follow the instructions of emergency personnel on scene.
