Man and woman charged following drug trafficking investigations

A 47-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both from Moncton, have been charged in connection with two drug trafficking investigations in Moncton, N.B.

On November 15, 2023, the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and the Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Edgett Avenue in Moncton. During the search, police seized firearms, as well as crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and amphetamine pills. A 47-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the investigation. The woman was released pending a future court appearance. The man was remanded into custody on an un-related matter, and released in March 2024.

On January 30, 2024, 47-year-old Matthew David Harley Robinson appeared in person at the Moncton Provincial Court. He was charged with firearms related offences and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was remanded into custody on an un-related matter, and released in March 2024. On March 13, 2024, 41-year-old Amanda Lynn Harris appeared in person at the Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with firearms related offences. She was released pending a future court appearance.

In February of 2024, the Codiac CRU and the IEU began another investigation into drug trafficking that led to the execution of a search warrant at an Argyle Street residence in Moncton, on April 10, 2024. During the search, police seized a firearm and quantities of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and hydromorphone pills. Matthew David Harley Robinson and Amanda Lynn Harris were arrested at the scene in connection with this new investigation.

On April 11, 2024, Matthew David Harley Robinson and Amanda Lynn Harris both appeared in person at the Moncton Provincial Court and were each charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Production of a schedule 1 drug (fentanyl)
  • Unsafe storage of firearm
  • Possession of a non-restricted firearm


Matthew David Harley Robinson is also facing an additional charge of obstruction of a peace officer. He was remanded into custody and will appear back in court on May 10, 2024.

Amanda Harris was remanded into custody and will appear back in court on May 21, 2024.

This investigation was the result of a joint effort between the Codiac CRU and the IEU. The New Brunswick IEU is made up of members from the New Brunswick RCMP, as well as municipal police and Justice and Public Safety officers in the province. These efforts aim to improve the coordinated response to the growing concerns of drugs, firearms, and organized crime within New Brunswick.
