Investigation into suspicious fire underway

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in McGrath's Cove.

On June 2, at approximately 6 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE), responded to a report of a structure fire on McGrath's Cove Rd. Upon arrival, a home and two outbuildings were engulfed in flames.

No one was at the residence at the time, and HRFE members extinguished the fire. All three structures, however, were destroyed, and three vehicles on the property were damaged by the fire. No one was injured in the incident.

From the information and evidence gathered, investigators believe the fire is suspicious in nature.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the General Investigation Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
