One woman and two men charged with second degree murder in connection with homicide

One woman and two men have been charged with second degree murder in connection with the homicide of a 32-year-old woman in Moncton, N.B.

On July 11, 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance on Belleview Street in Moncton. When police arrived at the scene, they located a woman in the street who was suffering from stab wounds. The woman was transported to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. She was later identified as Kyla LaPointe.

A short time later, police stopped a vehicle that had been observed near the scene, in connection with the investigation. A 38-year-old woman from Fredericton, a 49-year-old man from Fredericton, and a 28-year-old man from Doaktown, were arrested.

The same day, 38-year-old Megan Marten of Fredericton, 28-year-old Dylan Alexander Jackson of Doaktown, and 49-year-old Dana Livingston Mundell of Fredericton, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court. All three individuals were charged with second degree murder.

They were remanded into custody, and are scheduled to return to court on July 19 at 11 a.m.
