Western and Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Units arrest prolific offender

On Jan. 30, 2023, the Western and Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Units teamed up to search for a prolific offender with several serious outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Officers located the suspect operating a stolen vehicle, and with the help of the Edmonton Police Service, members executed a warrant at a residence in Edmonton and arrested the suspect.

As a result of this investigation, RCMP have charged a 49-year-old individual, a resident of Evansburg, Alta. with the following:

  • Assault
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Driving while prohibited (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to order (x4)

The individual was taken before a justice of the peace and was remanded in custody with a court appearance set for Feb. 3, 2023, at Edmonton provincial court.

Additionally, RCMP executed several outstanding warrants for the individual.

Evansburg RCMP issued a warrant for the individual's arrest from offences that occurred Dec. 31, 2022. As a result of this occurrence, the individual was charged with the following:

  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault

The individual was remanded in custody with his next court appearance set for March 13, 2023, at Evansburg provincial court.

Morinville RCMP issued a warrant for the individual's arrest from offences that occurred on Nov. 30, 2022. As a result of this occurrence the individual was charged with the following:

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Disobey a court order
  • Possession of w a weapon contrary to an order
  • Disobey a court order (x4)

The individual was remanded in custody with his next court appearance set for Feb. 9, 2023, at Morinville provincial court.
