On Jan. 5, 2023, members of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with assistance from Strathmore RCMP, executed a search warrant on a property in the Village of Rockyford. RCMP recovered the following:
- Stolen vehicles (x4)
- A fifth wheel RV trailer
- Stolen licence plates
- 25 grams of suspected fentanyl and 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Stolen identification documents
- Office equipment used to create fraudulent identification and financial cards.
A 46-year-old individual, a resident of Rockyford, was arrested on the property has been charged with 27 charges, some of which include:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x5)
- Possession of stolen property under $5000 (x2)
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Obtain/Possess identity information (x8)
- Possess a prohibited firearm
- Fail to comply with release order (x4)
Vehicles recovered included:
- 2017 Honda Civic
- 2020 Hyundai Elantra
- 2007 Ford F550
- 2003 Chevrolet Silverado
- 2009 Heartland Big Country RV Trailer
After a judicial interim hearing, the 46-year-old individual was remanded in custody and his next court appearance is in Strathmore provincial court on Jan. 17, 2023.
