Rose Valley Man arrested after dangerous passing caused a collision

Prince District RCMP responded to a collision that occurred after a driver made a dangerous pass on Route 2 in Richmond.

On February 7, 2023, at approximately 1 p.m., Prince District RCMP responded to a collision on Route 2 in Richmond. Police learned that the collision was the result of a 26- year-old Rose Valley driver, travelling at a high rate of speed, who attempted to pass a vehicle that was already in the process of legally passing another vehicle. The 26-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and then collided with the other overtaking car. The driver was arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and issued a ticket for Driving While Suspended.

The driver was later released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing.
