The Campbellton RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify an individual in connection with an assault in the community.

On July 1, 2023, sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., a woman was assaulted by an unknown man at an event near Ramsay Street in Campbellton.

Police are now seeking the public's help to identify the individual involved by releasing a composite sketch of the man who is described as having light coloured eyes and is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old. He is described as being in between five feet six inches (167 centimetres) and five feet nine inches (175 centimetres) tall, with a thin build.

Anyone who recognizes the sketch, description of the individual, who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have information that could help further the investigation, is asked to contact the Campbellton RCMP at 506-789-6000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
