The Northeast District RCMP is investigating the trafficking of electronic cigarettes in the Shippagan region.
On May 3, 2023, the Tracadie RCMP received a complaint that a 35-year-old woman has been selling electronic cigarettes (vapes) to students at a high school in Shippagan. This was the third report of this nature against the same woman since March. Subsequent to the complaint, police seized approximately 15 electronic cigarettes from two students at the high school.
A 35-year-old woman was later issued an appearance notice in connection with the investigation, and is scheduled to appear in Bathurst Provincial Court on October 3.
The investigation is ongoing.
