RCMP conduct traffic enforcement over Labour Day weekend

The New Brunswick RCMP conducted traffic enforcement over the Labour Day weekend in Hampton and Sussex, N.B.

The operation was conducted from September 1 to September 4, 2023, by members of the Hampton and Sussex RCMP detachments. The operation focused on unsafe and distracted driving, as well as impaired driving.

During the operation, a total of eight violations were issued under the Provincial Offences Procedures Act, and police issued a total of ten written warnings. Three motorists were also charged with impaired driving over 80 mg, and a seven-day roadside licence suspension was issued. Additionally, four vehicles were towed at the owner's expense, three of which were impounded for 30 days.

The public can assist in keeping impaired and dangerous drivers off the roads by reporting them to police. If you see a possible impaired driver or a dangerous driver, call 911 immediately with a description of the vehicle, license plate number, driver, and direction of travel if possible. Please help police make New Brunswick roads safer.
