The RCMP Christie Lake Kids hockey team, along with S/Sgt. Boissonneault who is in red serge uniform, pose with the STAR Cup. Team members are standing and kneeling off the ice in front of a rink.

Every year, Sgt. Julien Saulnier laces up his skates, joins forces with children from the Christie Lake Kids program and challenges the Ottawa Police Service to a hockey game for the STAR Cup.

Each police service teams up with children from the Christie Lake Kids program, an Ottawa-based charity that provides year-round extracurricular activities for children and youth from low-income households.

On Saturday January 21st, Sgt. Saulnier, Cpl. Saulnier, Cst. Szczukocki and S/Sgt. Herman played in the 13th annual game and came out victorious against Ottawa Police to win the STAR Cup and bragging rights for another year.

In addition to playing, Sgt. Saulnier also provided the jerseys and socks that the children are proud to wear.

All agree, win or lose, the kids and police had a great time and look forward to next year.
