Saskatchewan RCMP continues to ask public to report sightings of Brianna Forest

Saskatchewan RCMP's Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) is actively working to locate 24-year-old Brianna Forest.

She is wanted by Prince Albert RCMP on charges including aggravated assault and forcible confinement in relation to a September 19, 2023 incident on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. Details are available below. She is also wanted by Prince Albert Police Service for charges including assault with a weapon and theft of motor vehicle.

CRT asks members of the public to report all sightings and information about Brianna Forest's whereabouts to police immediately.

Brianna Forest is described as approximately 5'5" to 5'7" tall with an average build, brown hair and brown eyes.

She may be in the Prince Albert area, but this can't be confirmed.

Update: Jared Naytowhow arrested, Saskatchewan RCMP continues to ask public to report sightings of Brianna Forest

Saskatchewan RCMP's Warrant Enforcement Suppression Team (WEST) and Prince Albert RCMP continued efforts to locate Jared Naytowhow and Brianna Forest.

On October 30, 2023, investigation determined Naytowhow was in a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Officers from Saskatchewan RCMP's WEST, Prince Albert RCMP, Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, Police Dog Services, North District Management Team and Critical Incident Response Team worked for numerous hours to have Naytowhow surrender to police. A conducted energy device was deployed and he was arrested late on October 30.

A search warrant was executed at the residence after Naytowhow's arrest. Officers located and seized a sawed-off shotgun.

Jared Naytowhow appeared in Prince Albert on his outstanding charges on October 31, 2023.

Prince Albert RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP WEST arrest two, continue to search for two wanted in extortion investigation

2023-09-26

On September 19, 2023, Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge that occurred on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. After further investigation, it was determined that several individuals assaulted and attempted to extort an adult male, who was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Ian Felix, 32-year-old Jared Naytowhow and 24-year-old Brianna Forest, all from Prince Albert, are each charged with:

  • one count, extortion with firearm, Section 346(1.1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code;
  • one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, Section 85(3), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, uttering threats against a person, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Jared Naytowhow and Brianna Forest are also each charged with:

  • one count of pointing a firearm – Section 87(2) CC.

Jared Naytowhow is also charged with:

  • three counts of weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization – Section 117.01(3) CC

Warrants were issued for their arrest and Prince Albert RCMP began working to locate them, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP's Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST).

On October 18, 2023, officers from WEST were conducting proactive patrols on Sturgeon Lake First Nation and observed a vehicle reported as stolen from the Melfort area. Officers followed the vehicle to a residence and the driver of the vehicle was arrested. Officers identified him as Ian Felix and he was also arrested on his outstanding warrant.

As a result of continued investigation, Ian Felix is charged with:

  • six counts, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18, Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of firearm with tampered serial number, Section 108(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle, Section 94(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammo without licence/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, weapons possession while prohibited by an order, Section 117.01, Criminal Code.

Felix appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on all charges on October 20, 2023.

After further investigation, two individuals in the residence, 20-year-old Rylan Hanson from Buffalo Narrows and 22-year-old Savannah Burns from Sturgeon Lake First Nation, were arrested on outstanding warrants from Meadow Lake and Big River RCMP. Savannah Burns has also been charged in relation to the September 19 report of extortion. She is charged with:

  • one count, extortion with firearm, Section 346(1.1), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(2), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, uttering threats against a person, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Savannah Burns appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on October 20, 2023.

Jared is described as being approximately 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 200 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair.

Brianna Forest is described as being approximately 5'7", with brown eyes and brown hair.
