Pictou County District RCMP investigating serious crash

Pictou County District RCMP is investigating a serious crash that occurred on Gairloch Rd. in Union Centre.

On August 17, 2023, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Pictou County District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a crash on Gairloch Rd. in Union Centre. RCMP officers learned that a Kia Rio was travelling on Gairloch Rd., when it left the road, went through a ditch, across a private property and came to rest in a tree line.

The Rio was occupied by six people at the time of the crash, four females and two males. All six suffered injuries, ranging from minor to life-threatening, and were transported to hospital.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Gairloch Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
