A 36-year-old man from Richibucto, N.B., and a 38-year-old woman from Moncton, N.B., have been charged following a firearm incident in Moncton.
On February 23, 2023, at approximately 9:05 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of an individual who had been shot outside of a residence on Lutz Street in Moncton. When police arrived at the scene, they located a man who was suffering from a number of gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Botsford Road and Mountain Road, in connection with the investigation. A 36-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.
On February 24, Justin LeClair and Crystal Cormier appeared in Moncton Provincial Court, and were both charged with attempted murder.
Both individuals were remanded into custody, and are scheduled to return to court on February 27 at 1:30 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
