Lac La Biche RCMP advise residents to shelter in place – Update #3

RCMP are pleased to report that on July 27, 2023, the 39-year-old individual was arrested. There is no ongoing threat to the community of Kikino.

The individual has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with weapon
  • Uttering Threats (5 counts)
  • Resist Arrest (2 counts)
  • Mischief
  • Cause a disturbance
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation

After a judicial interim release hearing, the individual was remanded into custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice on July 31, 2023.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided.

Lac La Biche RCMP advise residents to shelter in place – Update (note new location for shelter in place)

Lac La Biche RCMP have issued a shelter in place for Kikino Metis Settlement and are currently searching for a 39-year-old individual who is considered armed and dangerous.

The individual is described as:

· Medium complexion

· 6 foot 2 inches tall and 194 pounds

· Brown hair and hazel eyes

Lac La Biche RCMP advise residents to shelter in place

Lac La Biche RCMP are currently involved in a police operation and are advising residents to shelter in place. Stay in your homes, lock your doors, and do not open your door for anyone.

Police are searching for a male who is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone driving on Highway 36, between Lac La Biche and Highway 28, are advised to NOT STOP for any pedestrians or hitch hikers.
