News release

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Grand Desert.

This morning, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Halifax District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of Grand Desert Station Rd. and Hwy. 207 in Grand Desert. RCMP officers learned that a GMC Sierra was travelling east, on Hwy. 207, when it left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch.

The driver of the truck, and lone occupant, a 76-year-old New Brunswick man, was transported to hospital by EHS, where he was pronounced deceased.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 207 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time.
