On Dec. 4, 2023, at 12:05 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a call of a person who had been found deceased in a wooded area near Westside Park.
The death was later deemed suspicious, and Edmonton RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation, assisted by Grande Prairie General Investigation Section.
Grande Prairie RCMP would like to inform the public that there is no concern for public safety. The investigation is still ongoing, and the scene is being held until further notice. The public is asked not to approach the scene in order not to interfere with the investigation.
