Fort Saskatchewan RCMP lay several charges following stolen vehicle sighting

On Nov. 30, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic and Crime Reduction Unit (TCRU) located a stolen pickup truck parked on 103 Street in Fort Saskatchewan. Two suspects were seen entering the vehicle and driving away.

An investigation ensued, and as a result, a 27-year-old individual, a resident of Edmonton, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Possession of identity documents
  • Driving while prohibited
  • Obstruct a Peace Officer
  • Fail to comply with a Release Order (x6)

A 24-year-old individual, a resident of Wainwright, Alta., was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with a Release Order

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP held both individuals for a judicial interim release hearing where they were both remanded into custody.

Both are scheduled to appear in Court on Dec. 14, 2023.
