News release

On behalf of Royal Canadian Mounted Police, O Division, I express my sincere best wishes to Commissioner Brenda Lucki on her final day with the RCMP.

Commissioner Lucki blazed the trail for women in law enforcement as the first permanent female commissioner of the RCMP. I know the many hurdles that we face, and how those challenges are amplified in law enforcement. She has earned our respect for meeting those challenges head on.

I would also like to acknowledge the Commissioner's leadership in guiding the RCMP through the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping our employees and citizens across Canada safe.

I applaud her for launching a number of initiatives, including the Vision150, to make the RCMP reflect our communities. We still have work to do to build a brighter future for the RCMP, but we are on the right road for the next 150 years.

Please accept our best wishes for every success in the next chapter of your life, Commissioner. As is completely fitting, we offer our final salute to you remotely.

Sincerely,

A/Commr. Jodie Boudreau
Commanding Officer, O Division
