Digby RCMP investigating serious motor vehicle collision in Rossway

Digby RCMP is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred in Rossway.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Digby RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Hwy. 217 in Rossway. RCMP officers learned that a school bus and a Chevrolet Silverado were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The driver of the Silverado and lone occupant, a 62-year-old Acaciaville man, suffered life threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital by LifeFlight.

The driver and sole occupant of the bus suffered minor injuries and was treated by EHS at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 217 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
