News release

RCMP officers in Clarenville are partnering with the Discovery Health Care (DHC) Foundation to participate in the Dave Hawkins Memorial Hockey Game, which will take place on February 22, 2023. All funds raised will support the purchase of new medical equipment for the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville.

The equipment, Myosure technology, allows a non-invasive option for the removal of surgical tissue from the uterine wall, benefitting women who require such a procedure. The Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital services all communities from Bellevue to Charlottetown, the Bonavista Peninsula, and the Burin Peninsula as far as Swift Current.

Through other fundraising initiatives of the DHC Foundation, $65,000.00 of the $80,000.00 cost of the equipment has already been raised. Tickets for the hockey game can be purchased for $10.00 each and will be available at the door. Those who wish to make a donation can do so here:
