On Sept. 11, 2023, at 9:41 a.m., Brooks RCMP received a report of stabbing that occurred at a residence in Brooks. Upon arrival, a 61-year-old male was located with injuries. An individual was arrested at the scene.
A 32-year-old individual, a resident of Brooks, has been charged with:
- Attempt Murder
- Fail to comply with probation (x2)
- Fail to comply with an undertaking
The individual has been remanded into custody; a future court date has not been set.

Brooks RCMP investigate stabbing
On Sept. 11, 2023, at 9:41 a.m., Brooks RCMP received a report of stabbing that occurred at a residence in Brooks. Upon arrival, RCMP located the victim with multiple injuries. A suspect was also located on scene and quickly arrested.
The victim who has been identified as a 61-year-old male resident of Brooks, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he remains in stable condition. The suspect, a 32-year-old individual, a resident of Brooks, remains in custody with charges pending.
RCMP remained at the residence for some time while they investigated. RCMP have now cleared the scene.
Brooks RCMP continue their investigation. An additional release will be sent once charges are sworn against the accused.
