Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigates homicide on Paul Band First Nation

News release

On July 20, 2023, Parkland RCMP issued a missing person release looking for 37-year-old Michelle Rabbit. On July 27, 2023, Parkland RCMP responded to a repot of found human remains South of Paul Band First Nation at an abandoned lease site. The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and have been positively identified as belonging to Michelle Rabbit. The manner of death has been deemed as a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit currently has carriage of the continued investigation.

Michelle's family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Parkland RCMP seek public's assistance to locate missing female – Update and correction

Parkland RCMP continue efforts to locate Michelle Holly Rabbit who was last seen on Paul First Nation in the early hours of July 17, 2023. RCMP believe that she could be with a vehicle described as:

  • 2021 Chevrolet Suburban
  • Black
  • bearing Alberta licence plate CCN5136
  • The vehicle may have damage to the front bumper.

Michelle is described as

  • 5 feet 4 inches tall;
  • 135 pounds;
  • Black hair;
  • Brown eyes, and
  • Was last seen wearing a black tank-top, black jacket and dark colored pants
