Two charged following a series of incidents

A man and a woman have been charged with multiple offences following a series of incidents in the Moncton and Dorchester areas in New Brunswick.

On June 15, 2022 at approximately 6:15 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter, and altercation involving a woman at a residence on Lutz Street in Moncton. Residents in the home also reported receiving threats toward themselves and police from a second person. Police were able to identify two people in connection with the investigation.

Approximately 45 minutes later, a 34-year-old woman was arrested without incident at a business on Dieppe Boulevard, in Dieppe.

Police received information that the second person involved in the incident was believed to be in the Dorchester area. RCMP specialized policing services including the Emergency Response Team, the RCMP Police Dog Services, along with members of the Southeast District RCMP assisted with the search. At approximately 9:30 a.m., a 36-year-old man was located by police at a residence on Route 106, in Frosty Hollow. Around 11:15 a.m., the man was arrested without further incident.

Following the arrests, search warrants were executed at the business on Dieppe Boulevard, in Dieppe, as well as the residence on Route 106, in Frosty Hollow. As a result of the searches, police seized quantities of what is believed to be methamphetamine, oxycodone, fentanyl, as well as cannabis.

James Earl Dewolfe appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on June 15 and was charged with:

  • uttering threats (five counts)
  • possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
  • possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling


He was remanded into custody and will return to court on June 17, at 1:30 p.m., for a bail hearing.

Samantha Wilbur appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on June 15 and was charged with:

  • break and enter
  • possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling


She was remanded into custody and will return to court on June 17, at 1:30 p.m., for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
