RCMP NL is pleased to welcome Police Service Dog Thor and his handler, Corporal Chris Ralph, to Bay St. George Detachment. The pair recently transferred in and are excited to get to work.

Three-year-old Thor was born at the Police Dog Training Centre in Innisfail, Alberta, and was paired up with Corporal Ralph in 2020, during their Police Dog Services training course. The two started their partnership working for a brief period of time in Moncton, New Brunswick, before being transferred to Grande Prairie, Alberta. As a lover of the water, and swimming in particular, Thor is settling in well to his new surroundings.

Corporal Ralph is in his 15th year of service with the RCMP and has served in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and New Brunswick, prior to completing his training as a Police Dog Handler. Being from Prince Edward Island, Chris and his family are excited to be back on the east coast of the country. He looks forward to exploring the great outdoors on his time off and is excited for his work on the west coast of the province.

Welcome to the rock!
