On September 24, 2022, at approximately 1:00 pm, officers from Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving six motorcycles that were travelling westbound on Provincial Road 311, near Road 36E, located approximately five kilometres northeast of Steinbach.

Officers attended to the scene and determined that the six motorcycles were travelling west on Provincial Road 311 when they drove into mud debris lying on the highway. The lead motorcycle lost control and the driver was thrown from his bike. The 45-year-old male, from Winnipeg, was then struck by an eastbound pickup truck and pronounced deceased on scene.

The other motorcycle drivers had also lost control on the mud, but were able to successfully put down their bikes. No other physical injuries were reported.

Steinbach RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
