Single-vehicle rollover causes power outage; four injured

Four individuals are in hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle rollover in Margate, PEI.

On March 5, 2022, at approximately 3:50 a.m., members of the Prince District RCMP, Kensington Fire Department, and Island EMS responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Route 6. Three adults and a teenager were transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and rolled over into a power pole. The crash resulted in a power outage for some Margate residents, which has since been reconnected by Maritime Electric.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
