On Aug. 12, 2022, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Strathmore RCMP responded to a sudden death at AgeCare Sagewood in Strathmore. A 63-year-old female was discovered deceased and the manner of death was deemed to be a homicide. RCMP Serious Crimes Branch has taken carriage of the investigation.
During the investigation, police identified a suspect; however, he was located deceased within the city of Calgary. Both the victim and suspect were known to each other and police are not searching for any other suspects.
Autopsies of both deceased were conducted at the Calgary Office of Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022.
