RCMP investigating fatal two vehicle crash

Pictou County District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Hwy. 104 near Priestville.

On July 31, 2022, at approximately 11:58 p.m., Pictou County District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a two vehicle crash in the eastbound lane of the divided Hwy 104 near Priestville. A preliminary investigation indicates it was a head-on collision between a SUV and a car.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the car, a 51-year-old Halifax man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were four men, all from Halifax, in the SUV. Three of the men are deceased, ages 61, 55 and 51. A 51-year-old passenger is in hospital with life-threatening injury.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Highway 104 has reopened after being closed for several hours.
