The Campbellton RCMP is asking the public's assistance to identify a person of interest following a theft from a business in Atholville, N.B.

On September 26, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a man entered a grocery store on Savoie Avenue, in Atholville. The man left the store with several hundred dollars' worth of merchandise without paying. When approached by an employee in the parking lot, the man immediately fled the scene in a black SUV.

Police are releasing surveillance images in hopes someone may recognize the man or his vehicle, or provide information that would help the investigation.

The man appears to be baldheaded, and wearing prescription glasses, a light-coloured button-up shirt and a dark jacket. The vehicle of interest appears to be an early 2010's black Hyundai SUV.

Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photo, or who has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the Campbellton RCMP at 506-789-6000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
