The Prince District Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Drug Unit has arrested a man and seized heroin, hydromorphone, oxycodone, alprazolam, a prohibited weapon, and money as part of an ongoing drug investigation in Kensington, PEI.

On January 24, 2022, police conducted a targeted traffic stop in Kensington as part of a drug investigation. A 28-year old man from the community was arrested at the scene. Later that day, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Kensington as part of the investigation.

As a result of the traffic stop and search warrant, police seized what is believed to be heroin, 731.5 oxycodone tablets, 65 – 8 mg hydromorphone tablets, 18.5 alprazolam tablets, brass knuckles, money, and drug paraphernalia.

The 28-year old man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of members of the Prince District RCMP, Summerside Police Services, and Kensington Police Services. The Summerside Major Crime Unit assisted Prince JFO with the execution of the search warrant.
