Man arrested for impaired driving following crash by Bay Roberts RCMP refuses to provide breath sample

Following the report of a single-vehicle crash in Bay Roberts, a 79-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving and refused to provide breath samples.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. last night, police received a report of a crash on Pickett's Road. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the driver who showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving, was transported to the detachment and refused to provide breath samples.

He now faces charges of impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand for a breath sample. The man was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date. His licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
